12188 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Prime Minister: Has the Cabinet Office considered the Auditor General’s suggestion in his June 2025 report concerning Fast-Track related conflicts of interest that it could be more transparent about how conflicts of interest are identified and managed in a way that enhances public trust and confidence and that balances any privacy interests, for example by proactively disclosing how all conflicts have been managed and if so, what changes, if any, have been made to make processes more transparent?
Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: I am advised that the Cabinet Office has considered this observation. As mentioned in the Auditor-General’s report, the Cabinet Office proactively releases certain information about the management of Ministers’ interests every six months. These disclosures were previously made annually but were changed to be twice a year under this administration, in the interest of transparency. No further changes are being made at this time.
