12145 (2026). Scott Willis to the Minister for Energy: How many FTE, if any, have been employed in the Energy Markets Branch of the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment, each financial year since 2022/23, inclusive of the current financial year?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that the number of FTE employed by the Energy Markets branch by financial year is as follows: 56 in 2023/24; 50.5 in 2024/25; 57.4 in 2025/26 (as at 31 March 2026). In 2022/23 the Energy Markets branch was combined with Energy Resources branch, and the total FTE for the Energy and Resources Branch at year end was 155.2.
