12139 (2026). Scott Willis to the Minister for Energy: Is it still the case that contractual arrangements prevent the divulging of specific monetary amounts of taxpayers dollars spent on contracts as part of the Government’s electricity sector review as media reported on 2 October 2025; if so, what is the exact text/s of any such clauses preventing such disclosures?
Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that the Cabinet Paper on the Review of Electricity Market Performance is published on MBIE's website and it sets out the money spent on external consultants to deliver the review. Individual contract amounts are not disclosed to avoid prejudicing the commercial position of the contracted parties.
