12078 (2026). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What contingency arrangements exist to maintain rescue helicopter operations if aviation fuel supplies are disrupted?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that almost all helicopter bases have their own fuel stores, as well as remote fuel trailers, and have not reported any issues with supply. I am further advised that there are two helicopter bases which use the airport fuel storage as they don't have their own fuel storage tanks. Neither base has advised Health New Zealand of any concerns regarding fuel access.
