12077 (2026). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Which Government agency, if any, is responsible for coordinating aviation fuel access for rescue helicopter services during a fuel emergency?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) is responsible for the national coordination of aviation fuel during a fuel emergency. I am further advised that Health New Zealand would work with MBIE and air ambulance providers to ensure fuel access for rescue helicopter services during a fuel emergency.
