12065 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Associate Minister of Transport: What is the most recent restructure, if any, to take place in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, and how many roles were affected, if any?

Hon James Meager: Corrected reply: MNZ: The most recent restructures completed within Maritime New Zealand were the integration of the Technical Advice and Support (TAS) function into the Regulatory Frameworks Group, and changes to the Regulatory Licensing and Regulatory Operations Planning, Practice and Notifications functions in May 2025. A total of 31 roles were affected across both restructures, with most changes being minor in nature (e.g. job titles, reporting lines, and team alignment). TAIC: The most recent restructure was the review of the Surface Investigations team which took effect on 15 December 2025. Two roles were affected (disestablished) and two new roles were created so there was no net change in establishment. CAA: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) announced the final decisions on a restructure in one Business Group on 1 April 2026. Two Principal Advisor positions are affected. The new structure will take effect from 1 June 2026.
