12030 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Prime Minister: What is the most recent restructure, if any, to take place in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, and how many roles were affected, if any?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I am the responsible minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was a departmental agency hosted by DPMC until 25 September 2025. The Chief Executive, Cyclone Recovery was a functional Chief Executive appointed under the Public Service Act 2020 in March 2023 and disestablished with effect from 1 July 2025. Following the Strategic Baseline Review, DPMC carried out a structure change that resulted in a more purposeful and impactful organisation focused on its core responsibilities. On 3 July 2025 final decisions on DPMC’s organisation structure changes were provided to staff following a period of consultation and submissions.
