12003 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Justice: Since 27 November 2023, what persons, if any, have been appointed to a board role position that wasn't on a shortlist provided to you as responsible Minister?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: For the appointment processes for which I have received a recommended shortlist, two candidates have been appointed from outside those shortlists. The candidates concerned were Dr Stephen Rainbow and Dr Melissa Derby who were appointed to positions on the Human Rights Commission. I note both candidates submitted expressions of interest and underwent an interview process prior to appointment.
