11951 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Agriculture: What is the most recent restructure, if any, to take place in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, and how many roles were affected, if any?
Hon Todd McClay: I am advised that the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) completed three recent change processes in March 2026: • Te Uru Rākau - New Zealand Forest Service confirmed structural changes within the Strategy, Engagement and Advice Directorate, affecting 11 positions: nine were reassigned and two roles were disestablished. • MPI Petone Office relocated to Ngauranga and other MPI offices in Wellington CBD: no roles were disestablished. • Biosecurity New Zealand’s Plant Health & Environment Laboratory aligned its operations to the Plant Health & Environment Capability programme, impacting seven positions: four were reassigned and three roles were disestablished. There was no net reduction in positions.
