11810 (2026). Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Associate Minister for Energy: What is the combined volume, in litres, of all contractually confirmed fuel tanker shipments destined for New Zealand for the months of May 2026 and June 2026?
Hon Shane Jones: MBIE does not receive information on contractual arrangements of the importing oil companies with their suppliers for fuel tanker shipments for those months across all fuel suppliers. Information on the status of future fuel shipments is provided to the Ministry on a rolling basis and this data is updated in real time by the importing oil companies with any changes as cargoes are finalised, amended, or rescheduled. Not all suppliers are able to confirm shipments several months in advance in a consistent or comparable way. Providing partial information would risk creating a misleading or incomplete picture of future fuel supply. For this reason, the Ministry does not publish, or aggregate forward-looking shipment volumes or shipment counts for specific future months. The oil companies continue to advise us that their import supply chains continue to operate as normal and they advise us as soon as possible if anything changes in their forward plans. To date we have not been advised that any of their cargoes in the time period requested have been affected by events in the Middle East.
