Camilla Belich to the Minister for the Environment: What is the estimated redundancy and transition cost associated with staff hired at the Ministry for the Environment in the year to 31 December 2025 who may not transfer to the new ministry, if any, after the Ministry for the Environment is scheduled to be disestablished and folded into the new Ministry of Cities, Environment, Regions and Transport?

Hon Nicola Grigg: The establishment of the new Ministry for Cities, Environment, Regions and Transport (MCERT) is being undertaken under Section 86 of the Public Service Act which will transfer the vast majority of the staff into the new agency. Section 86 requires that consultation with staff from the foundational agencies is completed as part of the transfer process, which will begin this month. We do not yet have an estimated redundancy and transition cost associated with transferring specific staff members.
