11655 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Further to Reply 8826 (2026), has NZTA monitored the road safety outcomes of the individuals who did not reobtain a Class 5 licence following the testing programme; and if so, what does that data show?

Hon Chris Bishop: NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) has advised me that the road safety behaviours of commercial operators are monitored regularly. Any driver who holds a Class 2-5 licence or an endorsement will continue to be monitored as a result. NZTA has also advised me that it is currently considering what else may be needed to monitor road safety outcomes for the full cohort over time.
