11645 (2025). Teanau Tuiono to the Lead Coordination Minister for the Government's Response to the Royal Commission’s Report into Historical Abuse in State Care and in the Care of Faith-based Institutions: What advice, reports, briefings, analysis, aides-memoire, or any other documents, if any, has the Minister or any member of their Office seen about New Zealand's Universal Periodic Review (UPR) that was adopted by the Human Rights Council at it's 57th session.
Hon Erica Stanford: I was consulted on a Cabinet paper by the Minister of Justice, considered in March 2024, which discussed the upcoming (April 2024) United Nations Human Rights Council Universal Periodic Review (UPR). I was also consulted on the Cabinet paper, considered in August 2024, which approved New Zealand’s response to the review’s recommendations.
