11635 (2024). Rt Hon Chris Hipkins to the Prime Minister: What advice, reports, briefings, aide-memoires, risk-registers, or any other documents, if any, has the Prime Minister or any member of their Office received during the week of 6 May 2024, by title and date?
Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: As Prime Minister, I regularly request and receive advice from officials on a range of matters. In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I received the following documents from
6 May – 10 May 2024 from my officials in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC):
• Transfer of responsibility – change of control of a default KiwiSaver provider – 6 May 2024
• King’s Birthday Honours List 2024: formal approval – 6 May 2024
• Grant of the title “The Honourable” to a retiring member of the judiciary – 9 May 2024
• Seal of New Zealand – 9 May 2024
• Transfer of responsibility relating to NZ Post – 9 May 2024
• Partial Guest of Government (PGoG) - Delegate Attending the Intelligence Policy Forum – 9 May 2024
I also received one document on the 8 May 2024 and two documents on 10 May 2024 however, it is not in the public interest to release the titles of these documents.
In addition, jointly with the Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery I have received the following document:
• North Island Weather Event: Progress Update on Categorisation and Buyouts, Sediment and Debris – 9 May 2024
I have received briefings from the Policy Advisory Group, a business unit of DPMC, during the requested timeframe however I am not releasing the titles of these briefings.
Furthermore, staff in my office may informally receive documents, including draft documents, from my officials in DPMC and from other agencies, and from Ministers’ offices. This information is not held in a format that can be easily extracted within the time frame.
