11619 (2024). Hon Marama Davidson to the Minister for Social Investment: What, if any, longitudinal evidence will the Minister use to inform social investment funding decisions relating to youth participants, Māori, Pacific, and Asian people?
Hon Nicola Willis: While the Stats NZ Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI) is not the only source of longitudinal data, I expect the IDI to provide a valuable source of longitudinal data and evidence for social investment. The IDI gives us an ability to look at people’s outcomes and experiences across their life course, as well as between generations. Rich data for the whole population gives us an ability to drill into the diversity of experiences within ethnic groups, identifying the people most in need who the system is not working for.
