11610 (2025). Benjamin Doyle to the Associate Minister of Health: What engagement has the Minister or their Officials had with the Minister of Regulation and the Ministry of Regulation regarding the regulation of POCT (STI self-test kits), if any?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that in 2024, Ministry of Health officials held inter-agency meetings on the new Medical Products Bill, which were attended by Ministry of Regulation officials. Proposals for the regulation of medicines and medical devices were discussed, although not specifically on STI POCTs.
