11593 (2024). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister for Oceans and Fisheries: How many, if any, turtles have been reported caught by fishers in New Zealand's EEZ since the start of the 23-24 fishing year; broken down by species?

Hon Shane Jones: I am advised that nine turtles were reported caught by commercial fishers since the start of the 2023/24 October fishing year. This comprised of one green turtle and eight leatherback turtles. All were reported as released alive.
