11571 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter October – December 2023 to ‘Mandate pro-equity strategic development, service planning and commissioning embedded with social determinants of health and wellbeing outcomes for Tāngata whaikaha | Disabled people’ under section 4.3 ‘Health of Tāngata whaikaha | Disabled people’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the October - December 2023 quarter, Health New Zealand established the Disability Strategy Team within the Office of the Chief Executive. A paper was presented to the Health NZ Executive Leadership Team outlining the Disability Strategy Teams priorities and work programme. I am further advised Health NZ began delivering Disability Capability Framework workshops to internal teams, to determine baseline capability level, to educate and to raise awareness with staff on the actions required to improve organisational maturity.
