11566 (2025). Benjamin Doyle to the Minister of Internal Affairs: How many, if any, infringement notices, penalties and prosecutions have been taken against unregulated online casino operators in the past 10 years, listed by amount and year?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised by the Department of Internal Affairs that, while it is unlawful to conduct an online casino operation from within New Zealand, the Gambling Act 2003 allows people in New Zealand to gamble with overseas gambling providers. There have been no infringement notices, penalties or prosecutions taken against unregulated online casino operators in the last 10 years.
