11531 (2025). Steve Abel to the Associate Minister of Agriculture: On what date, if any, will the revised Code of Welfare for Pigs and associated regulations be completed?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: No date has been set for release of the revised Code of Welfare for Pigs and associated regulations. I am currently considering advice that I have received from the National Animal Welfare Advisory Committee, the Ministry for Primary Industries, and New Zealand Pork. After this I will seek Cabinet’s agreement to progress the code and associated regulations that I decide on.
