11517 (2025). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister for Pacific Peoples: Further to WPQ 8274 (2025) what is the difference in funding support per project before and after Budget 2024?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised by the Ministry for Pacific Peoples two of three projects referred to in WPQ 8274 (2025), have experienced differences in funding support between financial years 2023/24 and 2024/25. Tupu Aotearoa had a funding decrease of $1.034 million between Financial Year (FY) 2023/24 and FY 2024/25. This amount represented a time-limited funding injection in Budget 2023 due to cost pressures as a result of those affected by Cyclone Gabrielle and other weather events. This additional funding ended after one year. Pacific Financial Capability (PFC) programme funding decrease between FY 2023/24 and FY 2024/25 is $4.025 million, due to the PFC fund being time-limited, ending in FY 2023/24. In 2024, the PFC programme was reallocated $7.91 million to continue the programme.
