11489 (2025). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister for Oceans and Fisheries: What evidence, if any, did he use to justify his statement 'The coordinates in terms of the total area were given' in Oral Question number 4 on 13 March 2025?

Hon Shane Jones: The coordinates of the encounter were provided by the Ministry for Primary Industries to the SPRFMO Secretariat. The Secretariat then circulated the area to be closed to SPRFMO Members. Vessels permitted to undertake fishing activities in SPRFMO are provided with the details of the closed area so they can avoid fishing in it.
