11488 (2025). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister for Oceans and Fisheries: What government agency, if any, provided Greenpeace with the coordinates, in terms of the total area, relating to the recent Vulnerable Marine Ecosystem encounter on the central Lord Howe Rise?

Hon Shane Jones: No New Zealand government agency provided this information to Greenpeace. The coordinates of the encounter were provided by the Ministry for Primary Industries to the SPRFMO Secretariat in line with Member requirements. The SPRFMO Secretariat then circulated the area to be closed to Members.
