11474 (2024). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: How does a hiring freeze help Oranga Tamariki to "get back to its core focus, which is care and protection of our young people"?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised that Oranga Tamariki has a temporary pause on recruitment through to 30 June 2024. This does not include critical frontline roles, such as Social Workers, which are still able to be recruited for. I also refer the Member to my answer to WPQ 2911 (2024).
