11418 (2026). Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister of Finance: What is the fiscal impact, if any, of recent decreases in net migration on demand for public services including health, education, and housing?

Hon Nicola Willis: The Treasury is incorporating assumptions about current and projected annual net migration into the forecasts underpinning the 2026 Budget Economic and Fiscal Update. Given budget sensitivity, I do not believe it is in the public interest to disclose the impacts at the current time.
