11404 (2026). Hon Dr Megan Woods to the Associate Minister for Energy: How much money currently sits in the petroleum or engine fuel monitoring levy memorandum account?

Hon Shane Jones: There is currently a prudential surplus in the levy account. It is necessary to keep a surplus for buffering fluctuations in the cost of purchasing oil tickets. Given the current response work, the year-end position for 2025/26 is unclear.
