Hon Scott Simpson: The government is not currently planning to amend the Accident Compensation Act 2001 to extend work-related ACC cover to volunteers. While ACC already provides general injury cover to all, including volunteers like firefighters, any future changes to the scheme would require careful consideration of financial impacts and sustainability, including the costs to levy payers and the Government.
