11289 (2026). Lemauga Lydia Sosene to the Minister of Internal Affairs: What is the total amount, if any, that Fire and Emergency New Zealand currently owes to the Crown from its $75.4 million loan in 2022?

Hon Brooke van Velden: Fire and Emergency has not yet paid any principal on the loan with the first payment due in June 2026, but has paid $5.23m in interest since July 2024. Interest to be paid on this loan is based on floating market rates. Annual interest for 25/26 is forecast at approximately $2.3m.
