11278 (2024). Teanau Tuiono to the Minister for Oceans and Fisheries: Is he concerned that scrapping the Fishing Related Mortality Limit (FRML) for endangered species of sea lion may result in bans by other countries on imports from New Zealand fisheries and what advice, if any, has he sought on the impact of removing the FRML for New Zealand fisheries exports?
Hon Shane Jones: The FRML for SQU6T expired under the previous government. I am advised the trade risks of not re-introducing this limit are minimal. No further advice has been sought.
