11266 (2024). Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister for Infrastructure: What, if any, direction has the Minister given to the Infrastructure Commission on the National Infrastructure 30 year plan?

Hon Chris Bishop: In my Letter of Expectations to the Infrastructure Commission I stated that I intend to develop and publish a 30-year infrastructure plan for New Zealand, covering all infrastructure sectors. I have said that I expect the plan will signal what’s required for the future, both in terms of the better utilisation of existing assets, and new investment required. As the government’s lead adviser on infrastructure, I have said that I expect the Infrastructure Commission to lead the development of the plan, working with relevant agencies as appropriate.
