11004 (2024). Hon Priyanca Radhakrishnan to the Minister for Disability Issues: Does she agree with the former Minister Penny Simmonds “The first I was alerted to the potential issue was December 15, but, at that time, the ministry believed that they could manage potential overruns”, and if so, what steps did Whaikaha take at this time to manage potential overruns?

Hon Louise Upston: Yes. I am advised that Ministry of Disabled People Whaikaha provided information to the previous Minister through a number of mechanisms from 27 November 2023, and substantial information was provided on 15 December 2023 in follow up to previous discussions and the Briefing to the Incoming Minister. I am advised that Whaikaha Ministry of Disabled People provided advice in January and February 2024 about options to manage cost and spend growth in disability supports.
