Francisco Hernandez to the Associate Minister of Transport: What specific actions, if any, broken down by action taken and date, has the Minister done to prepare the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities or any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, to implement the National Fuel Plan since 28 February 2026?

Hon James Meager: As Associate Minister of Transport, I am not directly responsible for the development or implementation of the National Fuel Plan. However, as the Associate Minister of Transport I have portfolio responsibility for sectors directly impacted by the National Fuel Plan and have received regular briefings and updates from officials on how the plan will impact these sectors, namely aviation and maritime. Transport officials are working closely with the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment to support its advice to Ministers on the National Fuel Plan, and to ensure next steps for the Plan appropriately consider implications for the transport sector. Officials, my staff, and I are in regular contact with the transport sector to ensure that the National Fuel Plan is well understood and able to be implemented effectively.
