Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Transport: What specific actions, if any, broken down by action taken and date, has the Minister done to prepare the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities or any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, to implement the National Fuel Plan since 28 February 2026?

Hon Chris Bishop: As Minister of Transport, I do not have responsibility for leading on the National Fuel Plan development or implementation. I have therefore not sought advice or provided direction on the National Fuel Plan to any of the departments, agencies or crown entities that I am responsible for as Minister of Transport. However, transport officials are working closely with the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment to support its advice to Ministers on the National Fuel Plan, and to ensure next steps for the Plan appropriately consider implications for the transport sector.
