10869 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter October – December 2023 to ‘Create and implement actions to deliver national consistency in data and digital capability and solutions across Te Whatu Ora including streamlining duplicate legacy systems inherited from DHBs and Shared Service Agencies, to improve intra-operability and reduce operating costs’ under section 3.7 ‘Strengthening our system enablers’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the October - December 2023 quarter, the Data & Digital Strategy and Roadmap was approved by Health New Zealand's Executive and Board. The Strategy and Roadmap include programmes of work to simplify and rationalise Health NZ's national IT landscape.
I am further advised that during the quarter a review of the digital investment portfolio was completed, with the purpose of ensuring investments align with national approaches. The Data and Digital group's new national structure also came into effect, which is the first step in streamlining ways of working.
