10866 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter October – December 2023 to ‘Scale and adapt population health digital services developed to support the COVID-19 response to serve other key population health priorities’ under section 3.7 ‘Strengthening our system enablers’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the October – December 2023 quarter, Health New Zealand continued work on the Communicable Disease Platform; decommissioning of Covid related systems, and piloted the Rheumatic Fever Register. Health NZ also successfully launched a new Health Information and Services website; My Health Record, and the Outbreak Response system, Whaihua. I am further advised that the Health Information and Services website contains information about immunisations, vaccine-preventable diseases, conditions, pregnancy, and how to access services. More information will be added overtime to help New Zealanders to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing. I am advised My Health Record is a secure website that gives people access to their health information, including immunisation records. It is the first step to giving New Zealanders access to their own health information online.Whaihua manages engagement with outreach referrals and allows users to initiate outreach services for a consumer; assign a provider to these services; connect with consumers, and record outcomes of these cases.
