10855 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter October – December 2023 to ‘Implement emissions targets and performance indicators for national, regional and local levels, and build a national database to track the operational and embedded carbon emission impacts of the health sector’ under section 3.7.4 ‘Action on climate change’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the October – December 2023 quarter, Health New Zealand continued to measure emissions within its operational control and reported on key emissions sources in its Q1 Sustainability Report. The report, available on the Health NZ website, demonstrates progress in reducing emissions against Health NZ's FY2022/23 baseline greenhouse gas inventory – published in September 2023 – and in line with targets set in accordance with Carbon Neutral Government Programme obligations.
