Hon Judith Collins: I am also the Minister of Space. A core role for the GCSB, in conjunction with the NZSIS, is to undertake national security threat assessments for all activities licensed or permitted under the Outer Space and High-altitude Activities Act 2017 and provide national security risk advice on outer space and high-altitude activities to me, in my role as the Responsible Minister. The Act requires that the Minister of Space must consult with the Minister Responsible for the GCSB and NZSIS. For all applications, I consider national security threat assessments from the GCSB and NZSIS alongside assessments from the New Zealand Space Agency.
