Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter October – December 2023 to ‘Establish a highly-connected national Pacific Clinical Network to help support and mobilise the clinical workforce and create a forum where insights from front-line staff are systematically captured and used to inform quality improvement and service development’ under section 4.2 ‘Pacific Health’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the October - December 2023 quarter, Fatu Fono Ola (Pacific Health Senate) provided advice on the Pacific Health Pipeline work programme. Health New Zealand has established a National Clinical Network programme that aims to reduce variation in access to health services. Networks have been announced for Stroke, Cardiac, Trauma, Renal, Radiology, Critical Care, Eye Health, and Infection Services, and more networks are being established. Insights from these networks will be considered within the Pacific Health Programme.
