10745 (2024). Hon Rachel Brooking to the Minister for Energy: What is the number of wind farms, if any, which have been consented, but not begin construction, broken down by area in New Zealand and year of consent?

Hon Simeon Brown: As of the 8th of May 2024, my officials are aware of seven proposed wind farms that have been announced as being consented but have not had a subsequent announcement that construction has started. The breakdown of these by region is attached. These are a combination of new projects as well as expansions to existing projects. My officials are also aware of a project in the Manawatū-Whanganui that has received consent to repower an existing wind farm in addition to the attached numbers. Information on the date that consents have been granted is held by consenting authorities.
