Hon Dr Megan Woods to the Minister for Energy: What briefings has he received, if any, on the outcomes of Ara Ake's collaborative electricity pilot with solarZero on solar and battery contribution to the reliability of electricity supply for New Zealand by enabling upto 30MW of additional network capacity on-demand during winter 2023?

Hon Simeon Brown: I have received a briefing on this matter in advance of meeting solarZero. I am advised that following the pilot, in response to the tight supply situation on 10 May, solarZero utilised their network of batteries to provide 30 megawatts of electricity to the grid.
