10690 (2024). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Associate Minister of Education: How many jobs are expected to be cut, if any, as a result of the reforms to the Ka Ora, Ka Ako programme announced 8 May 2024, listed by amount of jobs per region?
Hon David Seymour: The Ministry of Education’s (the Ministry) current Ka Ora, Ka Ako contracts and agreements with schools, suppliers and iwi/hapū partners will remain in place until the end of the 2024 school year. The Ministry, with advice from the expert advisory group, will work through an open tender process to source supplier(s) for the alternative provision model. The number of jobs impacted is not yet known. The Ministry will work with all suppliers and schools to support them through this transition.
