10676 (2024). Ricardo Menéndez March to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: What reasons, if any, will the Ministry of Social Development accept for beneficiaries not attending work seminars without facing sanction?

Hon Louise Upston: I am advised that the Ministry of Social Development (the Ministry) considers whether the client had a good and sufficient reason for not meeting an obligation for any type of obligation. The Ministry’s guiding principle for in determining good and sufficient reason is one of “reasonableness” – having considered the circumstances, would it be reasonable for the client not to have met their obligations.
