10564 (2024). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Associate Minister of Education: Are Composite Schools providing the Ka Ora, Ka Ako programme able to use the same provider to cater to all students as they will have to operate a dual model in 2025-26?

Hon David Seymour: Schools and kura with students in Years 0 - 6 can continue to receive lunches under their current arrangements. Under the reforms, an alternative provision model will be established for Years 7 and above. This also applies to Composite Schools. The Ministry of Education will work through an open tender process to source supplier(s) for the alternative provision model. Whether or not there will be providers that cater to both age groups concurrently will be determined following the tender.
