10554 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter October – December 2023 to ‘Identify and support Māori and Pacific NGOs to work with whānau with chronic conditions to support self-management of their conditions.’ under section 2.4 ‘Māuiuitanga taumaha | People living with chronic health conditions’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised during the October – December 2023 quarter, a project was commissioned by Health New Zealand to support Māori and Pacific NGOs to work with whānau with chronic conditions, to help them self-manage their conditions. This project is led by Healthify who continue to meet with a range of Māori and Pacific providers to understand the challenges they experience in supporting whānau to self-manage. Healthify's findings will ensure these challenges are addressed in the project design.
