Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter October – December 2023 to ‘Establish national strategic networks in the priority areas of: Oranga hinengaro | People living with mental distress, illness and addictions’ under section 3.1 ‘Transition to transformation’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the October - December 2023 quarter, a Strategic Design Network Programme Manager for the National Commissioning team for Mentally Well was recruited and started work. This role will lead three priority areas of work, covering: Infant, child and youth Mental Health and Addiction Services; Alcohol and other Drugs; and, People with High and complex Mental Health.
