10524 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter October – December 2023 to ‘Review the Primary Response in Medical Emergencies model with ACC and develop integrated and responsive rural ambulance programmes to improve access to primary and community care services’ under section 3.4 ‘Rural healthcare’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the October – December quarter, no progress was made on the review of rural access review, including Primary Response in Medical Emergencies (PRIME), due to it being paused while a wider national review of unscheduled care was rescoped.
I am further advised that the rural review has now restarted, with the establishment of an Expert Advisory Group.
