Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter October – December 2023 to ‘Ensure locality planning in rural areas improves access to healthcare in the most appropriate and sustainable way’ under section 3.4 ‘Rural healthcare’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Te Pae Tata: Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the October - December 2023 quarter, progress was made in addressing key issues identified by rural communities. I am advised that the key themes were access to services, having services closer to home, and raising awareness of available services for local communities.
