10515 (2025). Tamatha Paul to the Associate Minister of Housing: What assistance, if any, does Tenancy Services provide to applicants to the Tenancy Tribunal?
Hon Tama Potaka: Tenancy Services helps tenants and landlords act with confidence, build good relationships, and solve problems that may arise during their tenancy. In relation to the Tenancy Tribunal, Tenancy Services provides potential applicants with information about the Tribunal process, including making an application. The most common channels for this information to be accessed are tenancy.govt.nz and the Tenancy Services 0800 number.
Tenancy Services delivers mediation services to help parties to Tribunal applications resolve their dispute without the need for a Tribunal hearing. Tenancy Services also works closely with the Ministry of Justice to support the operations of the Tenancy Tribunal, including through assessing applications and scheduling mediation and Tribunal hearings.
