10485 (2024). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Local Government: What other finance models, if any, does the Minister envisage putting in place to support council-controlled organisations to finance their investments over the long term?

Hon Simeon Brown: For other councils the Government will be providing a range of range of structural and financing tools to ensure they can access the long-term debt required for investment in water services infrastructure. This includes enabling councils to group together to form multi-council owned regional organisations as well as working with the Local Government Funding Agency on the range of options it can offer to councils and CCOs for water.
