10388 (2024). Dr Tracey McLellan to the Minister of Corrections: When does he estimate the 470 new Correction Officer roles will be filled?

Hon Mark Mitchell: The additional 685 new frontline staff, including 470 new Corrections Officers as announced through Budget 2024 will be delivered over the next four years. As the prison population rises, Corrections must have the resource available to recruit and train staff to continue to operate the prison network safely and securely. I am advised that Corrections will adjust its recruitment over the coming years to ensure it has the right number of staff available to meet demand.
